Meyer finishes strong at Tour of Oman

Oman—Australian Time Trial National Champion Cameron Meyer showed off his considerable talent for racing against the clock with a third-place finish against some of the world’s top pros in Friday’s final stage of the Tour of Oman. The 22-year-old Garmin-Transitions rider finished just behind Time Trial World Champion Fabian Cancellara to take the final podium spot and move up to third place overall in the final GC standings.

Meyer used his Felt F1 SL road bike to race the challenging 18-5-kilometer course, which featured several sharp climbs, and a stiff headwind in the early portions of the race. His finishing time nearly put him in second place overall -- he ended up just half-a-second behind Friday’s TT winner Edvald Boasson Hagen of Norway.
