Snowsill scores ITU win in Iowa
Iowa – Felt-sponosred triathlete Emma Snowsill surged past fellow Australian Emma Moffat to win the Hy-Vee ITU Triathlon Elite Cup in Des Moines, Iowa, Sunday. Snowsill put in a strong ride on her Felt ZW bike and then a scorching run to win by 16 seconds.

It was Snowsill’s second win in Des Moines; she also took the title here in 2008. The gold medalist from the 2008 Olympic Games had the fastest run of the day, posting a split of 34:05, which allowed her to make up a deficit of more than a minute at T2.

Snowsill chased down the lead pack during the run, finally passing the leaders with 2 kilometers to go. From there, she powered away for the win and the $200,000 first place prize.
