Podium place for Daniela Ryf at L.A. Triathlon
On Sunday morning I started with comfortable temperatures at the Triathlon in Los Angeles on the Olympic distance without slipstreaming.
The waves in Venice Beach were two meters high so the swimming part was a big challenge. It was tricky for some of the athletes to get out of the water...
The 50 meters beach start runs well for me and I jumped with the top athletes into the waves.
Right at the beginning I felt very comfortable and I had a high frequency. I left the water with Lisa Norden, Helen Jenskins, Liz Blatchford and Julie Dibens and I even felt strong on the bike. I drove next to Norden and Dibens. After 20 kilometers we catched up with the top swimmers like Haskins.
I went in the lead and tried to raise up the pace, but I couldn't  shake off Norden and Dibens.
But all in all I am very satisfied with this race. I had a good rhythm and I enjoyed the race.
Los Angeles. Kaiser Permanente Triathlon.

Now I need a recovery - I will have a look at the Universal Studios in L.A. and on Thursday I will fly to Dallas.
Best regards,
