Enaux with victory and 2nd place in Méribel
At the fourth and last French Cup in Méribel, Sabrina Enaux won the short track race over three laps. After 7:49 minutes, the 32-year-old passed the finish line as first and beated Coralie Redelsperger and Ludivine Carre. Just a day later Enaux landed behind Cécile Ravanel on second place in the cross country race. "I have worked hard in the past two weeks. Although I missed a little power, I am very satisfied with my second place", said the Alsatian, who finished the French Cup season as third in the overall ranking behind Cécile Ravanel and Julie Bresset.
Markt wins Arlberg Bike Marathon
At hot summer temperatures in St. Anton, Karl Markt from Haiming celebrated a start-finish victory at the Arlberg Bike Marathon. On the 41 km long course with 1.400 meters of altitude difference Markt rode an average speed of 23,5 km/h and finished as first after 1:44:29 hours. The second placed Gerd Hagspiel and third placed Daniel Federspiel had a lag of more than two minutes on Markt.
Riha in sixth place at Zierenberg
Vladimir Riha has reached the sixth place at SKS Bike Marathon “Rund um den Zierenberg" near by Kassel. On the 106 km long course, Riha was in the lead up to kilometre 45 before he was not able to keep up the pace of his competitors. "For the long distances I`m not yet fit enough", said Riha, who was ranked third in his age group.
Morath has to give up
The podium in the Trans Schwarzwald was possible, but problems with the hip have forced Adelheid Morath to give up. Already on the third of seven stages, Morath complained about strong pain in the hip. Positioned in fourth place Morath then had to give up before the last stage up to the Feldberg. "For weeks I had problems with my hip. Now I contracted a tenosynovitis additionally", said the 26-year-old from Fribourg disappointed.
