Allrounder Anna and Jörg Scheiderbauer join the FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Worldcup Team
As in business life the Scheiderbauers are are also incredibly versatile in their sporting ability. After years of competing on the Olympic Mountain Bike cross country circuit, numerous experiences with the X-Terra and success in mountain bike marathons, the focus is now on Ironman triathlon. Their big goal is the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii, for which they will compete in the qualifying Ironman race in China in March. The extreme training for their dream began in Ötztal last autumn during an altitude training camp. Currently, they are clocking up the km´s on their new Felt triathlon bikes in the summer of Australia, where they are exposed to temperatures above 30 ° C. Their functional Team sportswear by X-Bionic with the Fennec technology turns sweat into energy and allows them a more intense and efficient workout.
The Australian Anna Scheiderbauer and her husband Jörg look back on a successful career. As the absolute highlight the 33-year-old Anna described her participation at the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000, the year she belonged to the ten best athletes in the UCI Mountain Bike World Ranking. Together, the two won three consecutive overall victories at the Transalp Mountainbike Challenge in the years 2004-2006. Jörg finished 3rd at the Mountain Bike Tour de France in 2003 and is the 2008 German vice champion in cross triathlon.
Not only in the active sport side of things, have the Scheiderbauers proved successful. Managing a professional Team is a role they fell into back in 2003 starting up the Team Ghost International. In 2007 they won the award for the best women's team in the World Cup series with Olympic Champion Sabine Spitz. Anna and Jörg now want to profit from this experience and contribute it to the FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Worldcup Team.
In addition to competitive sport the team Scheiderbauer sets its focus on leisure sports and on the development of young talents. As prominent ambassadors of the leisure team, they will stay in close contact with members and share their experience and expertise. "We are proud to have found three such high-profile partners as FELT, the ÖTZTAL and X-BIONIC. Together we can create something unique. We don`t want competitive sports and leisure sports to be considered separately any longer. The combination offers a huge potential and an exciting challenge," says the 33-year-old ambassador of the team, Jörg Scheiderbauer.
