Blaza Klemencic sensational 2nd place - four more athletes in top 15!
The Slovenian Blaza Klemencic confirmed her strong performance from the Maremma Cup with a fantastic second place at Kamptal Klassik Trophy in Langenlois (AUT). As this race belongs to UCI category C1, Klemencic collected 40 world ranking points. The only faster rider was the fifth place at the world championships 2009 Anna Szafraniec from Poland. While Manfred Reis had to stop with back problems, his team mates Karl Markt and Simon Scheiber performed strongly. Scheiber, whose ankle ligament injury seems to be endured, ended the Kamptal Klassik Trophy as 15th. In the U23 standings, he was only beaten by Piotr Brzozka from Poland. Scheiber´s countryman Karl Markt needed about three minutes less for the entire route, which earned him an excellent seventh place. The men's competition was won by Czech Jaroslav Kulhavy before Rene Tann (GER) and Tomas Vokrouhlik (CZE).
In Buchs (SUI) the first race of the Racer Bikes Cup 2010 took place under extremely difficult track conditions. Adelheid Morath from FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Worldcup Team landed in 13th place, the favorite Lisi Osl winning convincingly. The 25-year-old Morath from Freiburg was disappointed with her performance: "Unfortunately I was not able to keep up with the best riders today." The two Swiss riders Nathalie Schneitter and Katrin Leumann landed on the podium.
Just in time for the start of the French Cup Series in Saint Raphael Sabrina Enaux has recovered from her shoulder injury finishing in seventh place. Julie Bresset (FRA) took out the race with the silver medalist from Beijing Maja Wloszczowska (POL) in second and Laura Metzler from France rounding out the podium.
On the 11th of April the three riders Klemencic, Scheiber and Markt will travel to Eisenberg (AUT) where they will start at the UCI category C2 race. The whole team will then come together for the first Bundesliga race in Münsingen on the 17th -18th of April.
